Priyam Das is only 28 years old. Like any young man, he had dreams,
responsibilities and a family that depended on him. But over the past few months,
his life has changed completely.
Priyam, a resident of Thutikata village, Barkhetri constituency, Assam,
has been battling serious kidney disease. What began as a health problem has now
become a fight to arrange the treatment he urgently needs.
According to his medical reports, Priyam's kidney function is severely affected.
His serum creatinine was reported at 4.69 mg/dL, while his estimated
kidney function (eGFR) was only 15.92 mL/min/1.73 m². His haemoglobin
was also low at 9.4 g/dL.
His doctors have advised that he needs to arrange a kidney transplant within
the next two months. For Priyam and his family, this is not simply a medical
procedure — it is an enormous financial challenge.
He is the only earning member of his family.
Priyam's family does not have the financial resources to manage the cost of such
advanced treatment on their own. Every passing day brings them closer to a decision
they never wanted to face: how to arrange the money needed for his transplant.
