When a flood takes away someone’s home, it doesn’t just destroy walls and belongings — it takes away the place where a family felt safe.

Families affected by the recent floods and landslides in Nepal are facing an extremely difficult situation. Many have lost or been forced to leave their homes and are struggling with basic necessities such as safe shelter, food, clean water and essential supplies.

I don’t want this fundraiser to simply be about collecting money. I want to take that help to the people who need it.

I am raising funds with the intention of personally travelling to affected areas in Nepal and helping families with their most urgent needs.

Our first priority: Shelter

The focus will be on helping families get access to essential shelter and protection from the elements — including temporary shelter materials, tarpaulins, blankets, bedding and other necessities depending on what is actually needed on the ground.

Food & Essential Supplies

A family that has lost its home also needs something as basic as a meal and clean drinking water.

Part of the funds will therefore be used to provide food, drinking water, hygiene kits, clothing and other essential supplies based on the actual requirements of the affected communities.

Wherever possible, I will purchase supplies locally in Nepal and distribute them directly to affected families and communities rather than simply sending supplies without knowing what is actually needed.

I will first identify the genuine requirements on the ground and then use the funds accordingly.

I understand that when someone donates their hard-earned money, they deserve to know where it goes.

I will maintain records of the funds raised and the expenses made for relief. Purchase bills, receipts, photographs/videos and distribution updates will be shared with donors through regular campaign updates.
